The county’s economy is based on agriculture and livestock farming and it is 81 km away from Bursa's city center. The county was named “Orhan-ı Kebir” with reference to Orhan Gazi, who added the county to the Ottoman Empire's territory in 1321. During the Republic, the county was given the name Büyükorhan. Derecik Basilica dated back to the 4th Century A.C., 6 Km away from the county and Görecik Plateau are both worth seeing. The transport to Büyükorhan is possible from the Izmir Road - Orhaneli highway.
