Yıldırım

Yıldırım, established at the slopes of Uludağ, to the east of Bursa, got its name from the Ottoman Sultan Yıldırım Bayezid. The Town constitutes the central district of Bursa together with the Osmangazi and Nilüfer counties. Türkiye’s most popular winter sports center is situated in the Yıldırım county. The village of Cumalıkızık, where the Ottoman architecture has been carefully preserved until today, is important for the touristic value of the county. Many historic structures are located in Yıldırım, such as the Yıldırım Mosque Complex, the Green Mosque Complex and especially the Emir Sultan Mosque, that are all from the Ottoman period. The transportation to the county is provided through the Ankara Road.
